The New York Times’ article on the exhibition Uncanny

Steven Heller, a well-known American publicist and former art director of the New York Times, was impressed by the exhibition Uncanny: Surrealism and Graphic Design which is a part of Brno Biennial 2010. His article was published in the Wednesday edition of the New York Times. Heller is the author, co-author or editor of more than 100 books on design and popular culture and he has been contributing editor to PRINT, EYE, BASELINE and I.D magazines. The exhibition Uncanny curated by British design theorist and writer Rick Poynor is opened through 24th October 2010.

Michal Ranný Prize 2010

The Moravian Gallery in Brno and the Society of MG Friends invite nominations for the sixth edition of the Michal Ranný Prize, awarded in visual arts; the prize aims at highlighting the work of the artist, and is therefore connected with his/her presentation at the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The winner’s profile exhibition, accompanied with the publication of a catalogue, will take place within the 2011 exhibition season. An expert jury will select, from among the nominated artists, an outstanding personality who has significantly contributed, both formally and content-wise, to Czech visual culture. Nominations will be accepted by 30 September 2010, at the latest.
